Rubber Recycling Can Be Beneficial

Tens of Millions of used tires are generated every year around the globe. If we let all our used rubber made articles like tires accumulate uncontrollably, the result will be catastrophic. Landscapes would be dotted with mounds and mounds of tires as rubber is not naturally destroyable.
Recycling is the best way we can pursue to get rid of this monstrous problem. The main disadvantage of rubber is its indestructibility. But this disadvantage can also be a boon in that rubber is recyclable and can be put to use in a multitude of ways. Old tires are put through some processes involving excessive heat and pressure to remove steel belts and polyester wires strung through them. Dust and other impurities are washed and sieved out.
The resultant product is converted into different forms with differing qualities and thus, can be put to use in a variety of ways. Carpets, floor tiles especially for pavements and driveways are manufactured from reformed tires. However, any building and room can be paved with these. They are easy to clean, come in many colors, cheaper than other flooring materials and safe to use too.
Recycled rubber is good for making a plethora of household and personal articles. From rubber bands to hand bags, a multitude of articles are made from it. In some countries, the material is used for paving roads too. It has been found that usage of recycled rubber increases road mileage of vehicles to some extent. Soil erosion can be prevented if applied in threatened areas.
Irrespective of arguments against recycling, it can be said without doubt that recycling is the only solution to the problems arising from the accumulation of used tires. Recycling also saves the costs involved in producing new rubber.
